Tesla (TSLA) Model 3 sales in 2018 have grown to the point that it just rose to the top 100 cars sold into the US this year at position No. 100, according to Focus2Move.
Notice that the monthly sales figure, 6,250, is higher than the entrants above it. That’s because sales in the first few months were small as Model 3 has been dramatically ramping sales. Already, based on 6,250 monthly sales, the Model 3 has reached sales position No. 69, pushing down Mazda 3 and about to pass the Dodge Challenger at No. 68.
But in July the Model 3 will begin to show that Tesla is on its way to becoming a Top 20 car in the auto world when the Model 3 climbs the ranks to a monthly sales position most likely above No. 20 on the list.
Sales in July based on production should be approximately 20,000 units. That’s four weeks of 5k/wk, placing the car above the Subaru Forester, Chevrolet Cruze, Ford Fusion, Jeep Compass, and Subaru Outback, landing with the Hyundai Elantra. Tesla has passed 3,500/wk production and the most recent expectation is that it will finally reach 5k/wk any day now.
